Like the 319

Sitting here, trying to think of how to tell you what you need to do. It's a simple thing. But hard to actually make happen.

Go see Dale Watson play live. I don't want you to listen to his records, I don't care about that. I want you to stand up in front of that band. Serious. Best country, alt country, Americana whatever performance I've ever seen, by many hundreds of miles. Awesome.

Also saw Neko Case, who kicked ass, in spite of the fact that it was early in the morning (1pm) and as Kelly Hogan said, "we forgot to get up early enough to get wasted, so bear with us". Killed. Lucinda Williams...was not so good. Which I feel bad about, as she did seem like she's having a better life, but her band totally overpowered her. Last time I saw her it was just her and Doug, and that was about perfect. Kathleen Edwards was great, sweet, and just really good. I'd like to hang out with Kathleen, she seems like good people. Dale Watson just killed.

Oh yeah, it was Bumbershoot. I managed a few bands each day, which was good. Back-psoas shit is getting better, got a new room mates (I am happily blasting Tegan & Sara from her itunes as I type).

Wrote about 80% of a new song, got a tolerable recording (ie, weird as shit)of FMN, try a bit more this week, see what I can pull off. My other room mate bought a Little Martin guitar, and we had a fun evening around the table playing guitar last night. Good days.
